Z Global. Presentation of the candidate

In this video I have chosen some of my favorite sentences from Zapatero's presentation rally in Fuenlabrada. They are probably not the words with the greatest political impact of this rally, nor are they the most related to the news. And nevertheless, there is something in these words full of depth; something, maybe the restraint, the rhythm, that brings us closer to the deepest values and convictions, to his persona.

En este video he seleccionado algunas de las frases de Zapatero que más me gustaron en el mitin de presentación de su candidatura en Fuenlabrada. Probablemente no sean estas las palabras con más peso político de aquel acto, ni siquiera las más vinculadas a la actualidad. Y sin embargo, hay algo en ellas lleno de hondura, algo, quizá esa contención, ese tempo, que nos acerca a sus valores más profundos, a sus convicciones, a la persona.

Z Global. Highlights on equality

In this video I have chosen some of Zapatero's best sentences, in my opinion, during the rally on Equality in Seville. When we analyze the work of the Government in the first term (Law against Domestic Violence, the Gender Equality Law, promotion of parity, jobs for women, policies for the reconciliation of work and family life…), when we check the strength of his convictions during the electoral campaign and now that we can see the structure and the number of women in the new government, it is obvious that Spain has put itself in the world vanguard and is a world leader in the fight for equality.

En este video he seleccionado algunas de las frases que más me gustaron de Zapatero en el mítin sobre igualdad que se celebró en Sevilla. Analizando la labor de su Gobierno en la primera legislatura (Ley contra la violencia de género, Ley de Igualdad, impulso a la paridad, al empleo femenino, a las políticas de conciliación de la vida laboral y familiar...), comprobando la fortaleza de sus convicciones durante la campaña electoral, y viendo la estructura y las Ministras que forman parte del nuevo Gobierno de la segunda legislatura; es evidente que España se ha situado en la vanguardia global, en el liderazgo mundial, de la lucha por la igualdad.

Z Global. 2nd electoral debate on tv

Spain, 3 March 2008. Millions of people are in front of their televisions. A lot of public and private channels broadcast simultaneously the second and last electoral debate in the general election campaign.

This video contains the socialist candidate's opening and closing remarks; it's moving, valuable, because of the decisiveness of a few minutes, because of the hours spent shaping every single detail, but also and fundamentally because of the authenticity that it reflects.

Authenticity is something that one has or doesn't, the result of a lifetime. It's one of the things one can not fabricate. That's why this video is a part of the history of our democracy.

España, lunes 3 de marzo 2008. Ante el televisor millones de espectadores. Numerosas cadenas, públicas y privadas, retransmiten simultaneamente el segundo y último debate electoral televisado en la campaña de las elecciones generales.

Este video, que contiene la apertura y el cierre del candidato socialista, es emocionante, es valioso, por lo que había de decisivo en aquellos pocos minutos, por las numerosas horas que debieron dar forma a cada detalle, pero también y fundamentalmente por la autenticidad que refleja.

La autenticidad es algo que se tiene o no se tiene, es el fruto de toda una trayectoria vital. Es una de esas cosas que no pueden fabricarse. Por eso, estas imágenes forman parte de la historia de nuestra democracia.

During the next weeks i will upload subtitled videos of the words of Zapatero that really touched me during the electoral campaign.

I do it because at the end of this rally, in Vistalegre (Madrid), i felt that there are messages that could be useful for taking hope to other citizens of the world, to inspire change in other latitudes.

Durante las próximas semanas, iré publicando videos subtitulados con las palabras de Zapatero que más me llegaron de la pasada campaña electoral.

Lo hago porque al salir de este mítin, de Vistalegre, tuve la sensación de que hay mensajes que bien pueden servir para llevar la esperanza a otros ciudadanos del mundo, para inspirar el cambio en otras latitudes.
